在未来的几十甚至几百年中,人类将面临着巨大的环境挑战,适宜人类生存的地球气候,正坠入不可逆的临界点。几个世纪以来人类都是依靠改变环境让环境适宜人类的生存,但当人类适应的速度无法赶上环境的恶化,我们是否应该转换思路?我们是否可以改变人类自身?在过往的经验中,生物的形态为科技的发展带去了启发,那么我们能否再次借鉴和利用大自然生物中的超能力 ?
该项目以地球上最坚韧的生物水熊虫为灵感,设想了在未来通过新生的生物医学和医疗技术将水熊虫的“隐生“能力移植到人类身上。“隐生”分为多个步骤,在这一过程中,人类体内分泌出的几丁质体液会与空气结合凝固形成晶体化保护层,形成第二层皮肤。为了将“隐生”视觉化,项目选择以服装作为载体。
该项目亦重新思考了服装与人的关系。在目前的服装设计作品中,服装是设计生产后包裹在皮肤之外的,但在这一项目中,我们设想服装是由皮肤分泌而成,它是人类的一部分,衣服与人的交互关系由此发生变化。
虽然一切仍存在在设想当中,但当人们触摸或穿着这系列服装时,我们希望让用户水熊虫的隐生过程,思考对未来极端天气与生存条件的积极应对方式。

In the next several decades or even centuries, humankind will face immense environmental challenges as the climate of Earth, suitable for human survival, approaches an irreversible tipping point. For centuries, humans have relied on altering the environment to make it suitable for their survival. However, when the pace of human adaptation cannot keep up with environmental degradation, should we change our mindset? Can we change humankind itself? In past experiences, biological forms have inspired technological development. Can we again learn from and utilize the superpowers within nature's organisms?
This project takes inspiration from the most resilient organism on Earth, the tardigrade, and envisions transferring its "cryptobiosis" ability to humans through new biomedical and medical technologies in the future. "Cryptobiosis" is divided into multiple stages, during which the chitin body fluid secreted by humans will mix with the air to form a crystallized protective layer, creating a second skin. To visualize "cryptobiosis," the project selects clothing as the media.
This project also rethinks the relationship between clothing and humans. In current clothing designs, clothing is produced to envelop the skin. However, in this project, we envision clothing secreted by the skin as part of humans, which changes the interaction between clothing and humans.
Although everything is still in the conceptual stage, when people touch or wear this series of clothing, we hope to let users experience the tardigrade's cryptobiosis process and reflect on positive ways to cope with extreme weather and survival conditions in the future.
